Digital gift cards: choosing, paying and receiving safely
DinkCard lists eligible eGift products with denomination, checkout price and delivery details. The product actually available at checkout determines what can be ordered; brands, values and fulfillment methods may change.
Choose the right product and region
Gift cards often have country, currency, account or merchant restrictions. Before buying, compare the exact brand, denomination and region with the account where you intend to redeem the code. A gift card for one market may not work in another.
Check whether the product delivers a redeemable code, PIN, email instructions or a direct top-up. Some products require a recipient email or telephone number. Verify those details before submitting the order because wrong-recipient digital deliveries can be difficult to reverse.
Understand the final ETB total
Catalog prices and supplier availability can change. At checkout, review the confirmed total, payment method and any displayed service or processing fees. A USD denomination is the gift-card value, not necessarily the amount you pay in ETB.
Order only a product and denomination that are currently listed as available. If a product disappears or the price changes, review the order again rather than relying on an earlier screenshot.
Track fulfillment and redeem securely
Once payment is confirmed, review My Orders for the delivery or processing status. Fulfillment can be immediate or require additional review depending on the supplier and product.
Keep codes and PINs private. Redeem directly through the relevant merchant's official website or application, and save the order reference. Do not send codes to anyone claiming they need them to complete your refund or verification.
When delivery does not complete
If an order is delayed, locate the exact order reference and current status before contacting support. Never place duplicate orders simply because a payment-return page is slow; confirm whether the first attempt was captured.
Read the refund policy carefully. Successfully delivered digital products can have stricter reversal limits, while failed delivery may require supplier reconciliation or review.
Frequently asked questions
Are eGift codes always refundable?
No. Refunds depend on payment and delivery state, supplier rules and DinkCard policy. Redeemed or exposed digital codes may be irreversible.
What if I chose the wrong region?
Check country eligibility before checkout; regional restrictions may prevent redemption and may not qualify for a refund.
How do I know whether the order completed?
Use the actual order history and delivery status shown in your DinkCard account. Keep the order reference for support.
